About The Position

The Valet Attendant at Multicare Tacoma General Hospital is a full-time position responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. The primary duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, as well as assisting guests with their luggage during arrival and departure. The role requires maintaining a pleasant demeanor while interacting with guests, co-workers, and clients, ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and valued. The Valet Attendant must acknowledge and greet guests within five feet, using their last names to personalize the interaction, and practice proper phone etiquette when necessary. In addition to parking and retrieving vehicles, the Valet Attendant assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. They are responsible for opening vehicle and hotel doors for guests, providing directions, and answering inquiries about the facility's amenities and local attractions. The attendant also delivers messages and items as requested and shuttles guests to approved locations. A critical aspect of the role involves explaining parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests, issuing claim checks, and maintaining accurate ticket information for all vehicles taken into the valet system. The position requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all key tags, guest folios, and damage surveys are completed accurately. The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 5 AM to 1:30 PM or 10 AM to 6:30 PM. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. The Valet Attendant must also possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle, which is highly desirable for this position.
