About The Position

The VAD Transplant Coordinator manifests a high level of expertise in the assessment, coordination and care of the complex patients, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems; prevention of illness and injury; maintenance of wellness; and provision of comfort. The VAD Transplant Coordinator demonstrates strong clinical experiences in patient care.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in transplant, critical care or medical-surgical nursing.
  • Two (2) years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise for population served with a minimum of one (1) year in specialty area.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in the transplant field.
  • Academic Healthcare experience.
  • Advanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership experience.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification in Transplantation or Heart Failure or Mechanical Circulatory Support.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all day-to-day operations of the role independently with minimal assistance.
  • Seek advice and guidance from the Manager or Director on an as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on activity outside the unit.
  • Lead staff in daily operational functions.
