About The Position
Optiforms, located in Temecula, CA is a leading manufacturer of custom metal components and enhanced surface finishes for high precision applications. We specialize in electroformed and CNC machined components, as well as electrodeposited plating's and vacuum deposition coatings. We serve various industries such as aerospace and defense, medical, UV and semiconductor, searchlights and industrial. We are seeking a mechanically inclined individual to join our team in a hands-on, entry level role as an Optical Coating Technician trainee. This position involves repetitive production tasks, basic machine operation, and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality. As an Optical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet industry standards and customer expectations. No experience in Optics is required- we'll train the right candidate. This role offers a growth path toward becoming an Optical Coating Technician for those who show aptitude and interest in precision work and technical learning. Schedule is a 4/10: Tuesday- Friday 6am- 4:30pm
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing practices is preferred.
- Able to follow detailed procedures consistently
- Punctual, reliable and willing to learn
- High School level education or equivalent
- Basic Math Skills
Responsibilities
- Stripping / rebuilding all coating chambers
- Bead blasting of all tooling
- Degreasing / bead blasting of all new tooling prior to handing over to VC Technicians
- Bead blast machine maintenance
- Train to operate coating chambers as time permits
- Train to degrease/clean incoming reflectors as needed
- Keeping work area in bead blast room clean and organized
- Keeping floors in coating lab. mopped twice weekly
- Bead blasting of hubs and stencils located in all VC cabinets
