The Vaccine Program Coordinator at Vibrant Health is a pivotal role responsible for the comprehensive coordination of the Vibrant Health Vaccine Program. This position encompasses a variety of essential duties including vaccine ordering, inventory management, storage and handling, temperature monitoring, and ensuring compliance with emergency management protocols. The coordinator will oversee the procurement and management of vaccines, ensuring that all supplies are adequately tracked and maintained. This includes purchasing vaccines, managing daily inventory, and ensuring proper labeling and storage of both state-supplied and private stock vaccines. The coordinator will also be responsible for ordering vaccines based on bi-weekly inventory reconciliations and managing the return of expired vaccines. In addition to vaccine management, the Vaccine Program Coordinator will oversee equipment used in the vaccine storage process, including digital data loggers and refrigeration units. They will monitor and troubleshoot equipment issues, participate in annual recalibrations, and ensure that temperature monitoring protocols are strictly followed. This includes capturing temperature data twice daily and uploading it to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) bi-weekly. The coordinator will also manage the vaccine pack-out process and handle any temperature excursion protocols that may arise. The role requires effective communication and liaison skills, as the coordinator will act as the on-site contact for Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports and will conduct weekly meetings with clinical staff to assess and relay vaccine needs. They will also be responsible for training new clinical staff on vaccine processes and procedures, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations. This includes maintaining patient information, updating Vaccine Information Statements (VIS), and participating in audits with KDHE.
