About The Position

This position serves as the primary veterinary support for Zoetis products and services within the United States commercial broiler and breeder industries. The role involves significant face-to-face interaction with both internal and external customers, communicating the technical and economic rationale for health maintenance programs aimed at preventing, controlling, and/or treating poultry pathogens, as well as foodborne pathogens affecting humans. As a key member of a sales and technical organization, this position is responsible for training and maximizing the field force’s knowledge of medicated feed additives, vaccines, poultry health programs, food safety programs, and poultry production systems. The ideal location for this role is Texas; however, other locations within the DelMarVa region of the United States with significant poultry operations may be considered.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) required.
  • Knowledge of conventional and antibiotic-free commercial poultry production systems, including: Vaccination programs Medicated feed additives Direct-fed microbials Enzymes Poultry nutrition
  • Ability to travel greater than 50%, primarily within the United States.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both field-based environments and standard office settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial poultry production, veterinary services, or related technical roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to commercial producers regarding flock health and management issues.
  • Advise customers in designing flock health, vaccination, and coccidiosis control programs to meet their operational needs.
  • Plan and execute customer trials while adhering to approved budgeted expense levels.
  • Assist in the development of long-term technical strategies to support current and future growth of new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement account strategies.
  • Provide effective market feedback to internal teams to improve the overall technical service function and enhance company expertise.
  • Develop and present at key industry technical and commercial meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between Zoetis and universities working on industry-related issues.
  • Partner with internal regulatory teams on field and product-related matters.
  • Collaborate with marketing on technical information and the development of support materials for Zoetis poultry products.
  • Contribute technical expertise to research and development efforts for future product development and implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise to key decision-makers on acquisition opportunities.
  • Participate in Sales & Service management team meetings, providing technical input.
  • Assist in cross-training veterinary service teams and account managers in the following areas: Industry trends related to emerging and ongoing poultry diseases Interpretation of newly acquired trial data Government and industry policy initiatives related to disease control, animal welfare, human food safety, and the regulation of medicines
