About The Position

Vaccine Access Coordinator (Health Services Policy Analyst) About Us\: Our mission at the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is advancing the health and well-being of all Ohioans. The goal of the Bureau of Infectious Diseases (BID) is to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases (e.g., foodborne outbreaks, general infectious diseases, healthcare-associated infections, influenza, meningitis, tuberculosis, vaccine-preventable diseases, waterborne outbreaks, zoonotic diseases and vector-borne diseases). What You'll Do: The Vaccine Access Coordinator will participate in developing & conducting analytic studies of health status, health behaviors, & health services utilization within Ohio populations. This position will also assist in design & execution of health research projects related to vaccine coverage & quality assurance objectives. Additional duties may include: Develop evaluation & performance measurement plans related to immunization strategies & activities, in compliance with federal grant guidance. Assist in designing & carrying out health research projects (e.g., Immunization Quality Improvement Program for Providers [IQIP], School & Child Care Assessments, National Immunization Survey) related to program objectives. Write reports, develop presentations, & prepare correspondence regarding program purpose, functions, policies/procedures, data collection, data analysis, & results for various audiences (e.g., public, local health departments, legislators, health care organizations). Assist supervisor in preparing grant applications to federal funders (e.g., develops work plans, progress reports). Collaborate with the VFC & adult vaccine programs to analyze data & support the implementation of evidence based vaccine strategies & objectives aimed at increasing vaccination coverage Maintain resource library for program activities Provide information & guidance to hospitals, pharmacies, local health departments & offices/bureaus within ODH regarding immunization activities Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8\:00am to 5\:00pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 13 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Requirements

  • Option 1 Completion of undergraduate core coursework; 12 mos. exp. in one of following\: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate or advanced degree in public health, health behavior and promotion, heath services, epidemiology.
  • Experience working with vaccinations or in the vaccine field.
  • Experience collecting health related data and information from studies, investigations, or reports.
  • Experience with analytical software (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SAS).
  • Experience presenting, training, and/or public speaking.
  • Experience in creating plans, writing reports, procedures, and/or tools.
  • Experience working working with healthcare providers and local health departments.
  • Experience working with grants.
