About The Position

The Vacation Relief position at Northeast Foods plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bread manufacturing process during times when regular machine operators are on vacation or taking breaks. This role is essential for maintaining production continuity and involves a variety of responsibilities that require attention to detail and effective communication. The position requires working on both 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM), and the individual will be responsible for scaling ingredients, monitoring the dough process, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area. In this role, constant communication with the shift supervisor is vital to address any process changes and maintain product integrity. The Vacation Relief operator will need to communicate effectively with the next shift operator regarding the current product status, mix times, and any maintenance or sanitation issues that may arise. This position also involves reviewing the production schedule, recording temperatures for each dough batch, and monitoring dough cycles to ensure quality control. The operator must demonstrate precision in scaling ingredients and adhere to food safety protocols, such as the "First Expired, First Out" rule for ingredient management. Additionally, the role requires the operator to maintain the functionality of various machinery, including the Pan-O-Mat, and to perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. The operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting any mechanical issues and ensuring that the production line runs smoothly throughout their shift.
