About The Position

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced MRI technologist that independently operates radiographic equipment to perform a variety of complex diagnostic radiographic exams. The MRI Technologist runs a super conductive Magnetic Resonance Imager, a highly complex computerized imaging device which employs the use of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to acquire images of the entire body, including the brain, neck, spine, chest, body, and extremities.

Requirements

  • Must possess 2 years of work experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging within the past 3 years.
  • Picture Archiving and Communication System work experience.
  • Work experience starting intravenous and performing contrast injections.
  • Advanced ARRT certification in MRI.
  • IV certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate from a qualifying educational program for radiography or radiation therapy technology from an accredited college or post-secondary technical or vocational school. Program must have been accredited by JRCERT.

Responsibilities

  • Performing magnetic resonance imaging scans on patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Explaining the MRI procedure to patients, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they are comfortable before the scan.
  • Operating and maintaining MRI machines, ensuring they are functioning properly and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Ensuring patient safety by following protocols related to magnetic fields and contrast materials and assessing for any contraindications.
  • Evaluating and assessing the quality of images obtained, making adjustments as necessary to improve diagnostic accuracy.
  • Properly positioning patients within the MRI scanner to capture the necessary images while minimizing discomfort and ensuring accuracy.
  • Working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and assist in diagnosis.
  • Maintaining accurate records of procedures, ensuring that all imaging studies are properly documented and filed.
  • Staying updated on advancements in MRI technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development.
  • Adhering to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sanitized environment for both patients and staff.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
