About The Position

Responsibilities

  • Designs, deploys, manages, and serves as primary expert for the VMware and server environments.
  • Installs, tests, configures, secures, manages, and monitors VMware clusters across multiple data centers.
  • Supervises storage arrays handling VDC and VM workloads across the entire virtual infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with network and security teams to provision and safeguard the security of virtual network fabric and distributed switches.
  • Utilizes machine management to scale servers and services for both physical and virtual environments.
  • Manages, deploys, troubleshoots, and supports physical and virtual servers.
  • Sets up POC and production solutions.
  • Applies changes and upgrades to the vSphere environment using the Change Management process.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to design and implement virtual solutions for application deployment.
  • Creates processes and procedures for building new and upgrading servers, and completing routine tasks.
  • Develops comprehensive test cases for normal and degraded operations.
  • Coordinates with functional and cross-functional teams to solve problems and drive initiatives.
  • Participates in disaster planning, preparation, recovery, and testing as required.
  • Troubleshoots issues with vendors and evaluates vendor products and services.
  • Provides best practice advice and guidance to management and across the enterprise.
  • Provides after-hours support for infrastructure-related emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Monitors the health of all Hosts and VM objects in vCenter and ensures all vCenter plug-ins are functioning properly.
  • Ensures environments are running at optimum resource levels and reviews backups.
  • Responsible for firmware updates on hosts, patches for ESXi, VM patches, and VMware Tools updates.
  • Ensures the vSphere environment is compliant with Security Technical Implementation Guides.
