The Linux Administrator will support in managing and administering the lab environments on the Richardson site. The engineer will also support in managing the VMs as well as resolving VM issues in a timely manner. They will leverage their proficiency in administering network devices, automating infrastructure provisioning, and developing scripts for system administration and automated builds to ensure efficient and reliable lab operations.

  • Managing and administering lab environments in Richardson site and actively participating in lab-related activities, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in being able to handle configurations of routers and switches, console switches etc.
  • Creating, managing and administering Virtual Machines (VMs). Troubleshooting and resolving VM issues in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration. Developing and maintaining scripts for system administration as well as various VM related tasks.
  • Scripting for automated builds of Server, Virtual Desktop and workstation Images/environments.
  • Strong Proficiency in Windows and Linux administration skills
  • Good understanding of Cloud Computing concepts.
  • Good knowledge of scripting tools (examples include Powershell, Python, BASH, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Cloud Deployment Concepts such as the use of CI/CD Pipelines, service principals.
  • Previous Operational experience in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Active Directory and the Windows Operating system.
  • Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently and establish priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, escalate, and communicate issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Previous experience with endpoint management concepts (such as deployment, imaging, packaging, patching, testing, support, etc.) would be a plus.
  • Previous experience with Virtual Desktops Management would be considered a plus.
