About The Position

POSITION IS CONTINGENT BASED ON CONTRACT AWARD. Compass Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics & Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Naval Special Warfare (NSW) unmanned systems (UxS) programs. This role provides comprehensive logistics support, including inventory management, supply chain coordination, transportation, and sustainment planning to ensure operational readiness of UxS platforms. The SME will support lifecycle sustainment of UxS systems, coordinate logistics operations, and ensure compliance with applicable DoD, Navy, and USSOCOM policies. This position works closely with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient support of training and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in DoD logistics, supply chain management, or sustainment operations
  • Experience supporting inventory management, accountability, and supply chain processes
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, maintenance support, and sustainment planning
  • Experience working with DoD logistics systems (e.g., DPAS, SHARP, COLTS, or similar)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Naval Special Warfare (NSW), NAVSPECWARCOM, USSOCOM, or SOF organizations
  • Experience supporting UxS platforms and sustainment operations
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and transportation regulations (DOT, IATA)
  • Experience supporting logistics planning for training or operational environments
  • Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or hazardous materials handling

Responsibilities

  • Support logistics and sustainment operations for UxS platforms (UAV, USV, UUV, UGV)
  • Manage inventory, accountability, and tracking of UxS systems, components, and equipment
  • Coordinate supply chain activities, including procurement, transportation, and distribution of parts and materials
  • Support maintenance planning and sustainment efforts to ensure system readiness and availability
  • Maintain accurate logistics records and databases (e.g., SHARP, DPAS, COLTS, or similar systems)
  • Conduct inventory audits and ensure compliance with DoD and Navy accountability requirements
  • Support transportation and shipping of UxS assets in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Assist in identifying logistics gaps and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and readiness
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials handling and transportation requirements (e.g., DOT, IATA)
  • Collaborate with operations, training, and program management teams to support integrated mission requirements
  • Support development of logistics documentation, reports, and briefings for government stakeholders
  • Support lifecycle sustainment, maintenance coordination, and readiness of UxS platforms in training and operational environments
