About the position

Mass Virtual is seeking a passionate UX/UI Designer to work on next-generation XR training solutions. The role involves creating intuitive and functional user interfaces for various applications, including web and mobile devices, while collaborating with product management and engineering teams to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the look and feel for various interfaces, including web apps, mobile devices, XR apps, games, and other interactive media.
  • Design user-centered interaction models, wireframes, and screen mockups.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to product development.
  • Support multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and expectations.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX issues (e.g., responsiveness).
  • Stay up to date with design trends and best practices, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in product design.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills, including user research, conceptualization, UI/UX design, and prototyping.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant design software.
  • Knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design (UCD) methodologies and usability principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating user experiences.
  • Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience designing for Learning Applications or educational technology.
  • Experience with transitions, animations, motion design, and dynamic interactions.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
