CGI Federal is seeking a UX/UI Designer to join a collaborative, high-performing team focused on delivering user-centered design solutions that drive mission success. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about creating intuitive, accessible digital experiences. In this role, you'll analyze user needs, define requirements, and design browser-based interfaces that align with both business objectives and user expectations. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and developers to support the evolution of design systems, leveraging tools such as Figma, Axure and XD to create prototypes, conduct usability testing, and document design recommendations. Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week

  • Analyze user needs, define business processes, assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, design and conduct usability testing
  • Collaborate with developers to design and implement new web components within the design systems
  • Create and iterate on screen prototypes, anatomy diagrams, and design documentation for new UI elements (in the form of web components) to support usability and accessibility
  • Support the creation and maintenance for design toolkits in the latest design tools (Figma, Axure 10, XD, etc.) used by the UX Design Team
  • Contribute to the ongoing integration of design tokens within the design system
  • Facilitate customer discovery sessions to align business goals with user needs
  • Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
  • Candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in direct Interaction/Interface design, with a strong foundation in user-centered design methods and user analysis.
  • At least 3 years of front-end development experience using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, with preference for modern frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience documenting user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in both small and large group settings
  • Experience using prototyping software, specifically Axure RP prototyping software (preferably Axure 10) and Figma
  • Experience working with design tokens and design systems
  • Familiarity with Git and version control best practices, as well as modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical topics and interface with the customer on a daily basis
  • A digital portfolio of design work is required for consideration
  • Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.
  • Experience creating web components using StencilJS or similar frameworks
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub for version control and repository management
  • Demonstrated ability to design and conductive formative usability tests in both formal and informal settings
  • Familiarity with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Prior experience supporting federal government clients or working in a government consulting environment
  • Solid understanding of Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards as they apply to digital design
  • Additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly) are a plus
