GovCIO is currently hiring for a U X/UI Designer to work and collaborate within an Agile product team to transform complex ideas into user-centered designs that are both visually compelling and highly functional . This position will be located in Norfolk/ Virginia Beach/ Chesapeake area and will be a hybrid po sition. Responsibilities Coordinates with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. Provides technical/functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, developing, and supporting systems. They have the business knowledge and perspective of a particular business and the IT needs of that customer. Requires knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and work flows. May also be functional experts in financial, program control or logistical areas. Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. Interfaces between systems architects/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Documents product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Interacts with testing requirements to ensure traceability and test coverage. Requires general-logic knowledge of system capabilities without necessarily the ability to program. Client-Specific Responsibilities: What You’ll Do Develop user-centered design solutions based on research and industry best-practices. Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes for web applications. Leverage a deep understanding of design systems and scalable UI components to maintain and enhance the design system. Ensure designs meet accessibility standards, passing WCAG and 508 compliance. Present and validate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders in a clear, respectful, and collaborative manner. Collaborate closely with the design lead to ensure alignment on project goals, prioritize tasks, and manage expectations across the team. Work seamlessly with team members, cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to support successful project execution. Travel minimum 25% of time in support of program requirements.
