Our Research team plays a critical role in shaping the future of global travel by uncovering what matters most to our customers. We are looking for a Mixed Methods UX Researcher II to help us investigate and shape core traveler experiences across our product ecosystem, including communications and messaging, and to inform emerging efforts that apply agentic AI to improve how travelers discover, plan, and manage their trips. In this role, you will: Execute mixed-methods research (qualitative and quantitative) to generate actionable insights that inform product, design, and business decisions across multiple product areas. Plan and run end-to-end studies including research design, participant recruiting, moderation or fieldwork, analysis, and synthesis into clear narratives and recommendations. Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate research findings into product requirements, feature iterations, and experience improvements. Select and apply appropriate research methods (such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, or log analysis) based on product maturity, timelines, and decision needs. Communicate research insights in concise, compelling formats tailored to stakeholders, enabling data-informed prioritization and roadmap decisions across teams or domains. Build familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, and safely integrates and operates AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes in product discovery and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, a related social science, or equivalent practical experience in UX research.
  • Professional experience conducting UX research with both qualitative and quantitative methods in a product development environment, owning studies from scoping through delivery of insights.
  • Experience operating as a core research partner for one or more product or feature areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams to influence the direction of a service, workflow, or user journey.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute mixed-methods studies, including survey design and analysis, usability testing, and in-depth interviews, using standard UX research tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, with the ability to leverage these tools appropriately in research planning, execution, or analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (for example, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Behavioral Science, Anthropology, or related discipline) with substantial applied UX research experience.
  • Experience leading mixed-methods research programs for complex or scaled products, such as multi-surface or multi-market experiences, and influencing product strategy through data-driven insights.
  • Proven track record of building research frameworks, taxonomies, or recurring study programs that support consistent decision-making across teams and product areas.
  • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept to scaled adoption, including generative discovery, concept evaluation, iterative usability testing, and post-launch measurement.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven analysis or tooling (for example, using AI-assisted synthesis, segmentation, or pattern detection) to increase the speed and depth of research insights, and safely integrates and operates AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes in how research is conducted and applied.
