About The Position

The UX Researcher for AWS Customer Experience will lead the development of a research program aimed at evaluating and reporting on customer perspectives to shape the future of analytics and machine learning experiences at AWS. This role is crucial in providing insights that drive product development and enhance user experience, focusing on understanding how end-users interact with AWS systems and identifying key customer journeys.

Requirements

  • 7+ years proven success leading business-to-business (B2B) user research projects with demonstrated impact.
  • Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas).
  • 7+ years of experience managing all stages of research design (study design, test creation, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).
  • 7+ years of experience with research methods including field research, usability testing, concept evaluation, and statistical analysis of human performance data.
  • BS in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCDE, or Computer Science with relevant research experience.

Nice To Haves

  • MS or Ph.D. in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar fields.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment.
  • Ability to work in a startup environment.
  • Experience delivering human-centered research for conversational UIs and digital experiences leveraging generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term vision, strategy, and goals for UX research for the Analytics and ML experience team.
  • Identify best human-centered research methods (quantitative and qualitative) to answer questions based on research objectives.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive research roadmap, ensuring regular updates for relevancy.
  • Gather and analyze human performance, behavioral, and interaction data to validate design hypotheses and derive actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams across design, product, engineering, and management.
  • Create scalable mechanisms to evaluate Analytics and ML experience solutions from a holistic customer perspective.
  • Continuously learn and improve the craft of UX research.
