We are seeking a seasoned UX Copywriter to join the Creative Copywriting Team and be an expert in Shutterstock's product and service offerings helping translate our vision and voice across all on-platform surfaces. In this role, you'll write copy that delivers the best possible user experience while driving user acquisition, activation, utilization, and retention. You'll be an end-to-end contributor, collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through delivery on projects ranging from small features to large system-wide initiatives. Working closely with product designers, product managers, marketers, data analysts, and other copywriters, you will establish and maintain consistency in product copy while adhering to brand tone guidelines. Your work will span various user touchpoints, focusing on creating intuitive, delightful product experiences that help users accomplish their goals while optimizing for conversion and growth metrics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX writing or related field.
  • Strong understanding of user-flow and funnel optimization.
  • Expertise in SEO copywriting and optimization techniques.
  • Experience creating and optimizing user onboarding flows.
  • Experience with user testing, product experimentation, and leveraging research and analytics.
  • Deep understanding of behavioral psychology and its application to UX writing.
  • Collaborative spirit with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Portfolio demonstrating content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience.

  • Experience in ads, long form, social media content, video scripts, marketing campaign copy, or email content.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, concise, on brand, and compelling UX copy for site copy, calls to action, and microcopy.
  • Create and optimize copy for landing pages and pricing pages.
  • Develop in-product messaging and on-site banners.
  • Design user onboarding sequences and activation campaigns.
  • Craft notifications, error messages, and tooltips.
  • Create SEO-optimized content that ranks well and converts.
  • A/B test copy variations to improve key metrics.
  • Optimize onboarding flows to improve user activation and utilization rates.
  • Collaborate across Product Design, Product Management, Marketing, and Brand Studio teams to maintain consistent messaging.
  • Partner with the SEO team to ensure copy follows best practices.
  • Coordinate with designers and engineers to ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Participate in user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve copy.
  • Sync with data analysts to analyze user behavior analytics to inform your decisions.
  • Help develop content systems integrated into the Design System.
  • Stay current with and share growth marketing, product growth, and UX writing best practices.
