About The Position

The School of Education and Human Development (EHD) Ambassadors are a group of role models, leaders, and representatives that serve as a resource for the School of Education and Human Development. They work collaboratively with the Office of Admission & Student Affairs and the Office of Communications & Marketing to help with outreach, recruitment, and development efforts. These efforts may include involvement at fairs, virtual or in-person information sessions, one-on-one advising appointments, informal tours, social media takeovers/highlights/profiles, phone/email/text outreach campaigns and more.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled full-time (12 credits or more during a fall/spring semester and six credits during summer session or January Term) in a UVA EHD undergraduate, graduate (online or in-person) or minor program
  • Must be in good academic standing , minimum 2.75 GPA from the previous enrolled semester
  • Must have a positive and flexible attitude and a desire to work with students, faculty, and staff
  • Must be available to work for a minimum of an academic year
  • Attend mandatory trainings each semester
  • Regular attendance at team meetings during the school year
  • Commit to staff recruitment events and events for current students during the school year
  • Contribute content on social media throughout each semester

Responsibilities

  • To positively represent the School of Education and Human Development and the UVA Student Body.
  • To serve as a liaison /customer service on behalf of the School of Education and Human Development to prospective students and their families, alumni, and donors.
  • To serve as a panelist, tour guide, and resource for incoming and prospective students.
  • To support the School of Education and Human Development’s marketing efforts with engagement and presence on social media platforms.
  • To share positive personal experiences at UVA and the School of Education and Human Development with future students.
  • To work closely with the School of Education and Human Development’s faculty and staff to develop a deep understanding of degree programs and services available to students.
  • To c ollaborate closely with supervisor s on short - and long-term projects that support the EHD Office of Admission .
