This position involves coordinating patient care for a diverse age population within the Singing River Health System. All duties must be performed in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization standards, and governing guidance for healthcare employees. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current unrestricted Mississippi State licensure as a nurse
• Complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
• Complete appropriate level of de-escalation training by the end of position orientation (90 days)
• Obtain ACM or CCM (Certified Case Manager), Certification in Utilization Review, or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality-CPHQ within 2 years
• Demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities
• Demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required
• Ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
• Possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
• Possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
• Be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• ACM or CCM (Certified Case Manager)
• Certification in Utilization Review
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality-CPHQ
• 3-5 years’ Registered Nurse (RN) experience in surgical nursing, Utilization Review, Ambulatory or Acute Care that has relevance to the practice of Case Management

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care to a population of different ages within the Singing River Health System.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.
