About The Position

Founded in 1983, Medical Review Institute of America (MRIoA) is a nationally recognized Independent Review Organization (IRO) specializing in technology-driven utilization management and clinical medical review solutions. We’re a leader in Peer and Utilization Reviews, known for excellence and continuous improvement. We’re seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician, to assist in Utilization Review work which involves evaluating medical records to determine whether healthcare services—such as treatments, procedures, medications, or levels of care—are medically necessary, appropriate, and compliant with established clinical guidelines. Will review documentation, compare it to evidence‑based criteria such as InterQual, MCG, and Medicare policies, and ensure that the care being delivered meets regulatory and health‑plan requirements. UR work helps verify that patients receive the right care at the right time, prevents unnecessary or duplicative services, supports safe transitions between care settings, and promotes efficient use of healthcare resources. Requirements

  • MD or DO, currently Board Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Minimum 5 years of direct, clinical experience in Family Medicine (including Residency)
  • Willingness and availability for daytime peer-to-peer conversations
  • Unrestricted FLORIDA, MINNESOTA, PENNSYLVANIA, INDIANA, OREGON or TEXAS medical license, or a current "Letter of Qualification" from the IMLCC.
  • Strong computer and online navigation skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (Visa sponsorship is not available)
