About The Position
As a Utilization Nurse, you’ll review medical and behavioral health services to make sure patients are receiving the right care at the right time. You’ll work closely with providers and care teams to ensure services are medically necessary, appropriate, and meet state and regulatory guidelines. You’ll support individuals with both physical health needs and serious mental health conditions by reviewing care requests, monitoring service use, and helping coordinate care when needed.
Requirements
- BSN required
- Active Arizona RN license
- At least 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 1 year of behavioral health experience
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
Responsibilities
- Review medical and behavioral health services for medical necessity
- Monitor patterns of overuse or underuse of services
- Conduct chart reviews and audits
- Communicate with providers and internal care teams
- Help coordinate care and make referrals when appropriate
- Serve as a clinical resource for covered services
