About The Position

This position is for a Utilization Coordinator whose responsibility is to coordinate the ongoing assessment of medical necessity and continued stay of patients. This position coordinates activities to promote optimal care and efficient resource utilization. The position reports to the Director of Utilization Management.

Requirements

• Education level equivalent to a licensed practical or vocational nursing diploma preferred.
• Clinical competence in nursing preferred.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia.
• LPN work experience in Utilization Management/MDS required.
• Basic technical nursing skills.
• Experience in chart auditing.
• Experience in interpreting federal and state regulations and accreditation standards governing patient medical necessity and continuity.
• Basic typing and computer skills.
