The Utilization Management Assistant plays a crucial supporting role within the Utilization Management department, primarily responsible for facilitating the UM review process, and ensuring timely and accurate submission of clinical documentation. This position performs essential administrative, clerical, and communication tasks to support the Utilization Review Nurses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines. The UM Assistant helps to ensure appropriate resource utilization while maintaining high standards of patient care. The UM Assistant must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, strong organization skills, follow-through abilities and time management skills, solid problem solving and decision-making skills, demonstrates flexibility and assertiveness, and have a strong knowledge of computers and various programs, such as Microsoft Suite productsWord, Excel, etc.
