The Utility position at US Cotton in Cleveland, OH, is essential for ensuring that all Machine Operators are continuously supplied with the raw materials necessary for uninterrupted production. This role involves a variety of responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process. The Utility worker will maintain required levels of raw materials for up to eight machines, ensuring that production runs smoothly without delays. This includes setting up all supplies required for production and assisting in hand-packing and hand-stacking products onto pallets. The position also requires wrapping all completed skids and removing trash, corrugated materials, and recyclables from the designated section to maintain a clean and safe working environment. In addition to these tasks, the Utility worker will assist machine operators in gathering production supplies, packaging materials, and loading equipment. This may involve physically demanding tasks such as dumping boxes and lifting stacks of cardboard. The role also includes weighing and documenting all scrap, recycling, and bulk materials, keeping coil bins neat and rotated, and returning empty coil barrels to the Card Room. The Utility worker is expected to keep their area safe and clean by assisting with sweeping and filling the water tank when needed, while also recording information on the water tank sheet. Completing all necessary paperwork and documentation is a critical part of the job, as is following all safety rules and procedures. The Utility worker may also be assigned special projects or additional duties as directed by the Production Lead or Supervisor.
