About The Position

- Promote a safe working environment. - Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers - Verify daily that all resins and colorants designated for each production line is accurate with PIC sheet on each line and document on Production OEE form. - Complete daily Scrap report on computer detailing all resin, colorant usage, regrind and scrap generation. - Ensure regrind is being used on all lines maintaining proper levels at each machine. (No more than 1 excess Gaylord by any machine.) - Set up blenders, calibrate and change material formulas as necessary. - Evaluate Colorant usage and verify that colorant is not being overused – perform visual color checks on bottles. - Responsible to calculate usage and mix up color standards (LTD) per customer approved standards. Or target letdown ration designated on PIC sheet. - Transport material and scan (regrind, colorants etc.) to and from the warehouse - Perform line clearances on completed production lines, cleaning entire material system. - Responsible to make sure all used gaylords being used on the production floor have been properly defaced of the original use signage stickers. - Keep areas around the grinders, blenders, day bins clean and free of regrind, dust etc. - Communicate with operators any changes of regrind percentages. Or accumulation of excess regrind - Check cyclone dust collection bags on each line and empty and clean as necessary should not exceed 20lbs of dust. - Clean vacuum pump filters daily. - Hook up and operate railcar unloading system following all proper procedures - Responsible to make sure that NO resin is spilled on ground or around railcar area. If this does occur immediate cleanup is necessary! - Identify and weigh all material chunks per production line and dispose of in proper location. - Any duties not listed that could be assigned by the supervisor or acting supervisor for the day. For example, but not limited to breaks, cleaning, rework, unloading resin into gaylords etc. - Communicate to on-coming shift activity on production floor and any upcoming changes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Lifting 50lbs, frequent climbing, frequent stooping, frequent bending, frequent lifting and frequent carrying 50lbs up ladders and onto platforms.
  • This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
