About The Position

As directed by the department lead, this full-time Utility Worker position maintains the general maintenance of the facility, as well as the preparation and tearing down of events. This role pays an hourly rate of $32.22 (per CBA). Benefits as per the union agreement. This position will remain open until May 15, 2026.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and some holidays is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Will be required to join the union, upon invitation, following 90-day probationary period

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains facility, including painting and general labor.
  • Handles preparations for all events, including installation and removal of dasher board system for hockey, staging, and chairs for concerts and family shows and basketball flooring.
  • Snow removal and general maintenance of areas on the outside of the facility, which involves driving plow truck and forklift, as needed.
  • General summer garden detail, including cutting grass with mower, weeding, and trimming using motorized trimmer.
  • Implements corrective actions and solutions.
  • Ensures job assignments are completed on time and meet company standards.
  • Follows procedures for use of Work Order and Maintenance Manager Systems.
  • Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes.
