Utility Worker: As an Utility Worker for Catholic Charities, you will perform routine building, equipment, and grounds upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environmental. Under the direct supervision from the immediate Supervisor, provide general support for kitchen/program operations.

Requirements

  • Must have good written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • A verified safe driving record in the State of Ohio with no greater than four (4) points and provide a copy of license.
  • Driving record will be obtained through Motor Vehicle Abstract.
  • Must be able to work with a high level of speed and accuracy.
  • Must have the ability to organize work under pressure.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in food service.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction ensure that the activities of this program and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Secretariat for Catholic Charities Health and Human Services and Catholic Charities Services Corporation.
  • Unload, organize and rotate pantry and supplies stock properly.
  • Arrange cooler and freezer properly.
  • Assist with heavy lifting.
  • Remove stock from the freezer.
  • Sweep, scrub, and mop floor as needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area and equipment as assigned.
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils and equipment as needed.
  • Load and unload food into totes, units, and off of food van.
  • Transport clients and/or food in company vehicles as deemed appropriately to meet program goals.
  • Deliver food to units as directed.
  • Notify Supervisor when there are problems with the facility and program vehicles.
  • Secure company vehicles after every use.
  • Clean/wipe cottage carts as needed with sanitizer.
  • Assist with preparation and set-up for special events.
  • Remove trash from staff dining room areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
