DOTI's Transportation Division develops, reviews, evaluates, implements and supports the design of transportation system improvements As a Utility Worker II you will: Work on a Signs and Markings team Perform semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects Operation of light weight motorized equipment and hand and power tools Assist with general labor, safety, and related work tasks on a crew with Equipment Operators Cross Train with Signal Techs and Equipment Operators Operate equipment such as box trucks, auger trucks, dump trucks, Mini Excavators and other heavy equipment after CDL is obtained Place and remove barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work areas for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with traffic regulation requirements Participate in snow removal duties. What You’ll Bring Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics: General construction knowledge Driving experience Conduit, piping or plumbing experience Have a CDL Willingness to work in inclement weather, road environments, dust, fumes, etc. Desire to follow a career path and promote to other positions within the department, such as Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, etc. (We provide on the job training!) Requirements
