About The Position
This is an entry level position performing general labor tasks that support the various departments of the Department of Utilities. Utility Workers may be assigned to one designated utility (i.e., water/sewer, gas, distribution, wastewater treatment plant, etc.) or they may work with various departments at different times. This position is intended to be an entry level transitional position that allows the incumbent the opportunity to gain exposure to and knowledge of the various utility departments within the City. It is expected that Utility Workers are preparing for and will move into a higher skilled position within the Department of Utilities.
