About The Position

The Utility Worker position at the City of Denison involves performing routine public works and utility maintenance and repair tasks. The worker will operate heavy equipment and tools, ensuring the maintenance and repair of city facilities and services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record sufficient for coverage by the City's auto liability carrier.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of hand tools and machines used for divisional purposes.
• Ability to repair and maintain mechanical equipment.
• Ability to perform moderate physical labor.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and/or written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform utility field work related to Public Works maintenance and repair.
• Assist field crews with installation, repair, and maintenance of parks, city streets, and water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Drive and operate heavy equipment for divisional maintenance and repair activities.
• Service equipment and City vehicles with water, gas, oil, and air.
• Operate equipment/tools such as pipe saws, cutters, wrenches, weed eaters, and mowers.
