About The Position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor the Utility Worker 2 will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical & mechanical systems cleaning and organizing at Seattle Central College main campus and satellite locations. This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed. This position works: 100% of the time on-site This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a computer to complete timesheets and other employment-related tasks
  • Valid Washington State Driver License with a driving record that will not inhibit from being insured

Responsibilities

  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance on buildings, fixtures, equipment, grounds, walks, and driveways.
  • Load and unload trucks and move furniture, equipment, supplies and materials; assemble new furniture.
  • Maintain our campus recycling program including but not limited to; emptying trash, recycling and compost receptacles around the exterior areas of campus.
  • Assist with moving various office furniture i.e.; tables, desks, file cabinets, book cases, folding tables, and chairs.
  • Assist with any maintenance or grounds needs as a second person helper but can also work independently as needed.
  • Participates and follows all safety related trainings/sessions with other maintenance mechanics as required per OSHA, WISHA and L&I requirements.
