About The Position

Join one of the largest employee-owned companies in the nation! Davey Tree Surgery Co. is looking for a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our passionate team of utility line clearance professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day! The position involves climbing trees and performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. This includes pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees, and removing broken limbs from utility lines and roofs. You will also be responsible for maintaining and operating tools and equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver's License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform tree pruning and removal services for electric utility providers
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines and roofs
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
