About The Position
Veolia North America (VNA) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in maintaining the city's street, water, and wastewater systems. This position involves a variety of tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of essential infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and safety of our water and wastewater systems, which are critical to the health and well-being of the communities we serve. The role requires hands-on work in drainage construction, maintenance, and repair, including assisting in laying concrete bricks, mixing and pouring cement mortar, and cleaning and repairing catch basins, storm drains, culverts, and ditches. Additionally, the candidate will engage in roadway construction and maintenance, utilizing concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. Operating heavy equipment, vehicles, and hand tools is a key aspect of this position, as is inspecting water and wastewater lines and components to identify and address any issues. The candidate will also be tasked with repairing and replacing damaged components, tapping water mains, and installing new service connections. Other responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining water meters and fire hydrants, hydro-cleaning, and removing blockages from sanitary sewer lines, as well as video inspecting sanitary sewer main lines. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and preparing and maintaining work zones are also essential duties. The role may require directing traffic and performing landscaping tasks such as mowing and trimming around streets and roadways. This position is vital to the operational integrity of our services, and the ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and grow in all areas related to street, waterline, and wastewater line construction.
