The Utility Technician I is responsible for performing various general labor activities that provide assistance at the jobsite.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s License and maintains insurable driving record.
  • Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures & safety practices. Ability to perform routine maintenance/repairs. Ability to work with required tools (including jack hammer, demolishing saw, etc.). Comfortable in and around water/raw sewage.
  • Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive internal & external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.
  • Pays attention to detail. Identifies & solves problems. Escalates issues accordingly. Checks work for quality.
  • Works well with supervision. Takes projects to completion. Follows all company policies & SOPs. Manages multiple tasks.

  • Must be able to: frequently lift 50-80 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains items on water, wastewater and drainage facilities.
  • Makes scheduled inspections.
  • Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.
  • Shovels dirt and gravel.
  • Maintains inventory of parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Cleans office including: vacuuming, sweeping, trash pickup, bathroom/kitchen clean up.
  • Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.
