About The Position
The position involves overseeing the processing of utility invoices and verifying transactions to ensure accuracy and timely payments to vendors and suppliers. The role requires managing the utilities payable team, which includes hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies. Additionally, the candidate will implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to prevent errors and fraud in the accounts payable process. The position also involves reconciling utility payable transactions with general ledger balances, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues to ensure accuracy in financial statements. Furthermore, the candidate will prepare and analyze utility accounts payable reports and metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement in the payment process. Coordination with the accounts payable department and third-party providers is essential, as well as handling complex utility inquiries and disputes, including resolving billing errors and negotiating adjustments or refunds to ensure fair and accurate transactions.
