The Utility Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the utility team responsible for cleaning, fueling, and preparing paratransit vehicles for service. This role ensures that all transit vehicles, facilities, and support areas meet cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness standards. The Utility Supervisor manages staff scheduling, conducts inspections, monitors supplies, and enforces compliance with safety protocols to maintain a clean and efficient transportation operation.

  • Supervise utility staff responsible for vehicle cleaning, fueling, fluid checks, and basic servicing.
  • Create, coordinate, and adjust daily work schedules to ensure full operational coverage.
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles, parking areas, wash bays, and facilities to verify cleanliness and readiness.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, PPE, and fueling materials; request replenishment as needed.
  • Ensure staff follow OSHA, environmental, hazardous materials, and fueling safety standards.
  • Train new utility employees on procedures, equipment use, and safety compliance.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and support corrective actions as needed.
  • Document work activities, shift logs, incidents, and facility-related maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, and Safety on issues impacting service delivery.
  • Support emergency or after-hours operational needs when required.
  • 2+ years of experience in fleet, facilities, janitorial, fueling, or maintenance operations.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of vehicle cleaning, fueling, and basic servicing procedures.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards and hazardous material handling.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in a transit, paratransit, or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Experience with fueling systems, wash bay equipment, or chemical handling.
  • Certification or training in OSHA, environmental safety, or hazard response.
