About The Position
Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. This position starts at $20.55 per hour, with a second shift differential of $0.75 and potential for overtime. Responsibilities: The skilled utility job is responsible for training/learning most or all the jobs in their department/shift to help cover for vacancies due to vacations, call-ins, etc. This position is also responsible for maintaining product flow and relieving team members online for their breaks. Candidates will be required to perform jobs throughout the facility, including roles such as spice attendant, tree puller, janitor, stack off, metal detector operator, or any machine operator position available on day or night shifts. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of all labor positions. These utility roles may be assigned to any department within the facility, including the Raw Process or the Ready to Eat Process.
Requirements
- Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends if required.
- Must be willing and able to work with knives, if required, and wear all proper safety equipment.
- Must be willing and able to lift, twist, stoop, squat, and pull, occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform repetitive motions such as pinching, gripping, and grasping.
- Must be willing and able to work in a cold and damp environment with temperatures ranging from 20 to 50 degrees.
- Must be willing and able to stand for 8 to 12 hours per day.
- Must be willing and able to work on a rotating schedule.
- Applicants must have at least nine (9) months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last twelve months to be considered for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
- Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
