About The Position

Under close supervision, perform work as assigned, assisting in the maintenance, testing and repair of all types of transmission and distribution tools and equipment. Test, inspect, maintain, service and transport equipment. Assemble equipment and verify for correctness. Assist with work performed at field locations which include, but are not limited to, customer premises and AEP Stations. Comply and conform to all safety and environmental regulations. Utility Servicer B: What You'll Do: Promote and enforce the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health Programs. Paint, stencil and prepare electrical equipment for shipment following departmental procedures. Assist in filtering, transferring, and handling of insulating oil for reuse in electrical equipment, or for transport. Complete the repair and testing of tools and equipment. Use and properly maintain shop tools, test equipment, portable measuring instruments, and other equipment utilized. Assist in the repairs of distribution and transmission electrical equipment as assigned. Operate company vehicles and fork trucks as directed. Operate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, and perform rigging as directed. Participate in job briefings and safety meetings. Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Work Experience requirement listed below: None expected for this level of progression. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver license. Work productively and function effectively with the team concept. This job requires "recommended" test results from HireVue Line Worker Virtual Job Tryout. This assessment is completed online, is untimed, and typically takes about 45 minutes to complete. Must successfully complete all job demonstrations, examinations or other training required within such time frame as determined by the Company. Must be willing to work overtime as required by job responsibilities. Must acquire within such time frame as determined by the company, the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of Utility Servicer A or vacate the current job classification. Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings. Must be physically capable of performing all the essential physical functions of the position and have the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Utility Servicer A. May have to lift and move up to 50 lb. objects; move and climb up to 28 ft ladders. Must be fitted annually for respirator / breathing apparatus. Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification.
