Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Utility Saw Operator in our 1st shift Fiber Department at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. Job Summary: Responsible for the operation of numerous types of equipment used in the manufacture of fiber/filter products. Position Scope: Position maintains a daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager/Supervisor and all department personnel to make sure the needs of all internal and external customers are met through the manufacture of fiber products using a variety of machine, ovens and saws to produce finished products. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Requirements

• Experience operating cut saw machines preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment required.
• Good communication and advanced math skills.
• Must be forklift certified or have experience with sit down forklifts.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
• Must be able to lift master roll up onto the cutting table up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate numerous types of equipment used in the manufacture of fiber/filter products.
• Maintain daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager/Supervisor, and all department personnel.
• Ensure the needs of all internal and external customers are met through the manufacture of fiber products.
• Use a variety of machines, ovens, and saws to produce finished products.
• Assist with inventory as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
