About The Position

To support the Production or Packaging portion of the Pet Food business. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Utility Operator and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Background in manufacturing.
• May be required to obtain and maintain company issued forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Fills in for employees during breaks and any type of absence while maintaining the continuing quality of the plant operation.
• Fully operates all necessary equipment in the assigned area.
• Record downtime, can loss, lot #'s, record temperature, and any other report documentation.
• Ensures all areas are cleaned to standard.
• Performs weekly sanitation.
• Participates as a member of the Team.
• Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
• Identifies areas that lack cohesiveness and brings them to the attention of the team leader.
• Communicates concerns and improvement ideas regarding Simmons' established operating systems.
