About The Position

The Utility Operator position supports the Production or Packaging segment of the Pet Food business by ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and maintaining quality standards. This role involves filling in for absent employees, operating necessary machinery, and participating in team activities to foster a cohesive work environment. The Utility Operator is responsible for recording operational data, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Background in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for employees during breaks and absences while maintaining quality operations.
• Fully operate all necessary equipment in the assigned area.
• Record downtime, can loss, lot numbers, temperature, and other documentation.
• Ensure all areas are cleaned to standard and perform weekly sanitation.
• Participate as a member of the team in ongoing development and implementation of team concepts and policies.
• Attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues.
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team leader to resolve issues.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
