About The Position

Skilled work related to the operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility. Performs lab and operational duties; exercises independent judgment to make process adjustments using established procedures. Uses chemical feed systems, pumps, chlorinators, and filters; collects samples and conducts laboratory analyses of the process throughout various stages of water treatment; records results.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator
• Must possess a valid FL Class C Water Treatment Plant Operators License (copy of License must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date)
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment
• Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate

Nice To Haves

• College-level coursework in Environmental/Chemical Studies
