About The Position

This position is located in the Wastewater Quality Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Utility Planner and Scheduler is a full-proficiency, para-professional classification responsible for applying knowledge of organizational and industry training requirements to work performed. The Utility Planner and Scheduler identifies and analyzes organizational training needs and designs, plans, and schedules training activities to fulfill those needs. This position is responsible for the efficient use of department resources by integrating and coordinating training plans, budgets, and schedules with operational activities, ensuring milestones and goals are met. Essential job functions include: creating routine to complex work schedules to determine scheduling sequence and lead time of each project or operation activity to meet forecasted master schedule; analyzing production specifications and training data; planning and scheduling workflow for each resource and/or operation according to previously established sequences and lead times; and planning sequences with other operations. The Utility Planner and Scheduler confers with department supervisors and management to determine status of projects and facilitate training completion according to schedule; alters schedules to meet unforeseen emergency situations; prepares training reports; may prepare standard lists of required materials, tools, and equipment used for training sessions; and may prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, equipment and services. The employee collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to plan and schedule employee participation in various training programs. The employee may provide functional supervision to nontechnical staff, with work products subject to review by a division manager or an immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the assigned work unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Distribution/Collection Operator Class C Certification, DEQ Class C Wastewater Certification, and Maintenance Technologist II Certification.
  • Knowledge of lift station replacement plans.
  • Knowledge of flow meter locations, calibrations schedules, and maintenance schedules.
  • Knowledge of the lift station budget.
  • Knowledge of NexGen.
