About The Position

At the Wayland location the Utility Person is responsible for all general utility and job duties as assigned, based on business needs. Must comply with the requirements defined within the contents of the GMP’S, SOP’s, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), LOTO procedures, and foods safety programs established by Bay Valley Foods. Must have knowledge of safe chemical usage and storage. Must be able to read a production schedule and supply components and ingredients to production without interruption to workflow. Must be able to operate lift trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Must also be able to operate floor scrubbers/equipment as required. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be able to keep accurate and legible records. Must have ability to accurately weigh ingredients as necessary with the ability to perform basic mathematical equations. Must be able to maintain or exceed line/production requirements. Must be able to do other related duties as assigned. Must have good work attendance. This position involves various shift work and overtime assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Experience with operating a sit-down forklift
  • The ability to work overtime and weekends
  • All employees are responsible for the quality and food safety of all products produced in this facility.
