The Utility Person at UniSource Energy Gas is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of gas distribution systems. This includes performing utility locate requests, staking meter locations, conducting dig-in inspections, patrolling the distribution system, maintaining regulator stations, monitoring pressure equipment, and handling 'no-access' orders found during system surveillance. The role also involves atmospheric corrosion patrolling, updating GIS mapping, and operating and maintaining company vehicles. Additionally, the Utility Person assists in maintaining A.C.C. Code Compliance, which includes data input, tracking, and monitoring of compliance requirements. Responsibilities extend to field activities associated with Code Compliance, maintaining various logs and records, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.

  • Perform utility locate requests and mark underground facilities.
  • Stake meter locations and perform dig-in inspections.
  • Patrol distribution system and maintain regulator stations.
  • Monitor pressure equipment and handle 'no-access' orders.
  • Conduct atmospheric corrosion patrolling and other maintenance work.
  • Update GIS mapping and operate company vehicles.
  • Assist in maintaining A.C.C. Code Compliance.
  • Perform field activities associated with Code Compliance.
  • Maintain daily manual/computer records for monthly statistical reports.
  • Keep logs of customer pressure, service orders, and emergency orders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer experience in gas transmission, distribution, construction & operations.
  • Prefer experience in performing compliance, financial or operational reviews.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programs is required.
