About The Position

This position provides support to the facility in various roles, primarily within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned. The responsibilities include pallet sorting, restacking, identifying products that do not meet customer specifications, reworking, and sanitation. The role emphasizes teamwork and participation in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The individual will coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings. As a team member, the individual will foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes. The position also requires the individual to identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team leader to resolve issues and achieve synergy within the organization. Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, is essential. The position is intended to guide the activities of the Utility Crew and is not limited to specific tasks.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain company issued forklift certification.
• Basic math skills, reading, writing, and computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
• Ability to work on feet for the entire shift and lift up to 75 pounds.

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
