About The Position

Provide support to the facility in various positions. This position involves performing various jobs within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned. Responsibilities around the facility can include pallet sorting, restacking, identifying products that do not meet customer specifications, reworking, and sanitation. The role requires participation as a member of the Team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The position coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, the individual fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. The individual accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues. The position also involves actively looking for ways and reinforcing actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization. Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) is essential, as is understanding the responsibility to maintain familiarity with these systems and the role in supporting them. The position description is intended to guide the activities of the Utility Crew and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
• Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain company-issued forklift certification.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
