About The Position

Think of the Utility Operator at Skana Aluminum as the ultimate behind-the-scenes hero—the Swiss Army knife of our production floor. If you like variety, staying busy, and being the go-to person that keeps things running smoothly, this role’s for you. You’ll jump in wherever needed, from moving materials with heavy-duty toys (forklifts and cranes), to helping operators with machines, to making sure everything stays clean, safe, and efficient. You’re not just supporting production—you are production. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (AKA YOUR SUPERPOWERS): Master of Many Hats: Support different departments like a pro. One minute you’re moving materials, the next you’re helping set up machines. Forklift Phenom & Crane Commander: Safely transport materials, products, and scrap like a logistics ninja. Clean Machine: Keep work areas sparkling by sweeping, shoveling, and keeping everything neat (because safety and cleanliness go hand-in-hand). Machine Sidekick: Help run equipment (safely, of course) and support operators so production keeps moving. Quality Control Agent: Keep an eye out for defects—if something’s off, you’ll spot it. 5S Rockstar: Stay organized, work efficiently, and help create a space everyone’s proud of. Packaging Pro: Assist with packing, labeling, and making sure our finished goods are shipment-ready. Team Player Extraordinaire: Communicate clearly, work well with others, and jump in where help is needed. Safety First, Always: PPE? Check. Safety procedures? You know them like the back of your hand. WORK LIFE AT SKANA (THE REAL DEAL): It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s physical—but it’s also rewarding. You’ll be surrounded by moving parts, powerful machines, and a team that has your back. We’ve got your PPE and safety protocols covered. Expect a workout—on your feet, moving, lifting, operating equipment, and making things happen all shift long. At Skana Aluminum, you’re not just clocking in—you’re helping build something that matters. We take pride in our craftsmanship, our teamwork, and our ability to adapt and innovate. If you're someone who likes to stay active, solve problems on the fly, and make a real impact on the shop floor—we want you on our team. Skana is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all qualified applicants for employment, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identification, sexual orientation and/or expression or any other characteristic protected by law in every location in which we have facilities national or local.
