The Position Utility Operator Job Summary Summary: Operate the mills, bagger operator, car cleaner, loader operator when someone is off sick, on vacation. Clean on both ends of the plant when not covering people off. 24 hour notice if off shifts must be covered.

Requirements

Safety protocols for operating all above mentioned systems.
Routine equipment maintenance.
Frequent standing and walking.
Carrying and lifting up to 100 lbs.
High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Complete pre-shift safety inspection sheet
Operate front-end loader to transport and blend clay from various stockpiles to different mills as identified by mill operator according to product specification.
Move controls to set specifications and start the machine.
Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls as needed or when automatic programming is faulty/ machines malfunction
Perform in-process product testing to ensure quality according to set specifications.
Record test results on quality reports submitted to the lab.
Observe machine operation and use quality tests (with emphasis on moisture & grind) to make adjustments to controls/ crude mix to ensure conformance within specification tolerances and efficient machine operation.
Operate Bagger, super sacker, palletizer, and forklift; to include troubleshooting the equipment when running slowly or when it stops running.
Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions; to include a daily end-of-shift work area cleanup.
Manually weigh bags to ensure conformance to specifications.
Manually reposition bags on pallets when necessary.
Communicate with Shift Foreman to see what is scheduled to ship.
Inspect and clean all railcars.
Record all seals and place them on the bottom of the cars.
Place blue flags up after the train leaves.
Clean work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
Run sweeper
Clean assigned areas determined by Plant management
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant managment.
