About The Position

The Utility Operator plays a vital role in supporting various manufacturing operations within the composite production environment. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, assisting in material handling, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace. The operator must follow detailed work instructions, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor equipment used in composite manufacturing processes, including but not limited to deburr, chamfer, milling, taping and drilling stations; mixers; ovens; and cutting machines.
Assist in the preparation and handling of raw materials and finished products, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Conduct quality checks on materials and products, reporting any discrepancies to the team leader, supervisor, or manager.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records as required.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support other team members in various tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Follow detailed instructions from shop routers, JIBs, and work instructions.
Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.
Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
